Jackfruit Cutter under Progress
With the new interest in Jackfruit development, there is urgent demand for the development of labor saving devices and machines to process jackfruit.
In Kudal, Maharashtra, M/s Sagar Engineering Works is developing a jackfruit cutter as a part of a project being carried out by Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli.
Prakash G. Sawant, proprietor of this firm says that the device will be ready in a few months. Made of food grade stainless steel, it will fasten the present cumbersome method of cutting the jackfruit. Price, work output etc has to be finalized soon.

JACKFRUIT FESTIVAL -SOUTH INDIAN WORKSHOP
As part of the state jackfruit festival, a south Indian workshop on `Jackfruit: For the security of Food and Society”, would be held at the Kozhikode Government Model HS School on May 24 and 25. Representatives from three-tier panchayat, activists of voluntary organizations, self-help groups, teachers, students, mediapersons can attend. Register before May 22.
